Cycling is becoming more popular across the Liverpool City Region with more infrastructure being put in place for bikes. Liverpool to become Climate Positive. Liverpool city council has an existing commitment to cut its overall carbon emissions by 40 per cent by 2030 against 1990 levels. But is now aiming to become the first Carbon Positive City by 2020. The City will attempt to offset the carbon impact of any product or service by transparently supporting forest conservation projects, allowing individuals, organisations, and governments to offset their emissions by maintaining carbon sinks, explained Poseidon. In 2018, all landlords in the private rental market will have to meet stringent new regulations concerning energy efficiency. And although compliance isn’t required until April 2018, there are already some implications taking effect. So what does it mean for both existing and potential landlords? Is there Financial Support From 2016, tenants can require landlords to make reasonable improvements to the energy efficiency of their home, where there is financial support available, for example, from the Green Deal which provides government funding to finance the installation of green technologies. Landlords can, however, refuse if it means a financial outlay beyond the funding. However, by April 2018, all private rented properties must be brought up to a certain energy efficiency level. After that time, it will be illegal to rent out a property which is non-compliant. Where tenants are already living in a property, the landlord has until 2020 to complete the improvements. How is energy efficiency assessed Every property currently has an Energy Performance Certificate, rating the property between category A (the most efficient) and G (the least efficient). In 2018, the minimum acceptable standard will become category E. For more advice on this, you can contact Base Energy who […]
Manor Property is now taking deposits for apartments in a stunning complex in Liscard, Wallasey, in the Wirral. Liverpool City Centre is just five miles away, over the River Mersey, and Wallasey has direct access to the M53 motorway, so it’s convenient for transport links and would be ideal for owners or renters who want the convenience of the city centre with a village atmosphere. It houses the local golf club, the rowing club and the old dockyard that was the heart of Liverpool’s industrial success in years gone by. The investment potential, therefore, is obvious and many tenants look for flats to rent in this area where buy-to-let opportunities in new developments are few and far between. We are delighted to build our next community development in Wallasey,” said Peter Eccles. “It’s a delightful place that has maintained its tight knit community feel, despite being just a few miles from the hustle and bustle of Liverpool.
